Red dye: hard to get rid of or long-lasting?

I've heard that red from previous dye-jobs is the hardest tone to get out of hair but also that red hair dye is one of the quickest to fade. Which is it?

Red dye: hard to get rid of or long-lasting?

I have heard and seen this problem too. My friend died her natural light blond hair with red streaks. It said on the package that after about 20 washes the color would come out. Even after far many more than 20 washes her hair is still tinted red. In a way, both things you have heard are correct. Although the color fades fast, the color also remains tinted in the hair for a long time. Hope this helps! =)

Red dye: hard to get rid of or long-lasting?

why red????? thanks for the points !!!!

Red dye: hard to get rid of or long-lasting?

My wife had a hard time getting rid of it.

Red dye: hard to get rid of or long-lasting?

it fades quickly.and each time u shower some red comes off until after about a wk it stops/.

Red dye: hard to get rid of or long-lasting?

both...

the red dye molecule is very large (compared to blonde and brown), therefore, its difficult to make it stay in the hair for a long period of time, especially if the hair is damaged, dry, or porous. red is the quickest color to fade, but it does exactly that...fade. your hair is still red, its just a much lighter red. however, when you lighten hair with color remover or bleach, regardless of what color it is to start with, its going to go through a red stage. if the color you're trying to remove is already red, it often times just turns lighter shades of red, eventually turning pink or orange. red and black are a hairdressers nightmare as far as removing or lightening, both for the same reason...they don't like to come out.

Girls with curly hair?

This isn't really a question, sorry. I was just wondering how all of ya'll feel. Don't you get annoyed when people tell you to straighten your hair?! I mean, it's soooo annoying! Not everyone wants to be like everyone else with straight hair!

Oh, and if one more person tells me that I have orange hair, I'm gonna scream!! I have red hair, btw. Just wanted to know if anyone else gets annoyed like me? And, please, anyone who doesn't agree with this, don't take this as an insult!!

Girls with curly hair?

I mean, I usually straighten my hair since my natural hair is an ugly wavy look....But if I had curly hair....I would love it and never straighten it.

Girls with curly hair?

its weird cuz even though I have curly hair, I prefer straight hair on girls.

Girls with curly hair?

I too have curly hair but have never had anyone tell me to straighten it. In fact, most people tell me they wish THEY had curly hair! People who tell you that may be jealous of your curls. Be proud of your hair and wear your curls with joy!

Girls with curly hair?

i like curly hair u now cause it is very nice

Girls with curly hair?

curly, straight, the only consideration is if you like it...and I have not seen your hair color to judge if it is , red, but, bein' here in the Rockies, Denver Bronco colors are blue and ORANGE, and sheesh, that IS orange...and you have to tell me little missy, if you dyed it that color, because Orange just ain't natural, so, if, IF it is, then you had to have dyed it. welcome, and I have naturally curly hair , and live with it...a touch of grey now...natural

Americas next top model hair?

Nicole gets a make over with red hair. I want to get my hair that color. What should I tell my hair dresser. When they dye it red it looks kinda red on the top and then dark in the rest of it. I want it bright but classy., like not punk rock, but still stands out.

Americas next top model hair?

I loved her haircut. Just print out the picture of Nicole from the internet and take it to your hairdresser. Search for ''Nicole America's Next Top Model''.

Or tell her to give you a pixie cut with red color. Pick out your color individually.

Americas next top model hair?

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

So like a week ago, I dyed my hair red and today I got a hot oil. While I was rinsing my hair in the bathtub, I noticed that the water sort of had a light reddish tint and I freaked out. Was it taking out some of my hair dye? Was it making my hair fade? Please, help me out. I love my red hair and I don't want it to fade. Thanks.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

Yes, It will do that but it should not be enough to ruin the color.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

No. More likely its your shampoo. You need a colour retaining one. Ohhh and red is the worst colour for leeching when washing.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

No, soap washes away color. That's why

color-treating/damaged hair shampoos are moisterizing.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

Probably, since oil penetrates through your hair.

Also, red dye fades a lot quicker and easier, so it was probably just the hot water opening up your hair cuticles.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

yes, and red is the coolest awesome color (just love it), but the quickest to fade!

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

I use it all the time and my hair is auburn and it never fades.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

yeah, it strips the color.

usually on the dye boxes it'll warn you about hot oil treatments.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

Yeah, the oil might make hair fade. I would find one that is specifically deigned for color-treated hair. There are lots of deep conditioners that don't strip color. Frederic Fekkai makes some good ones, check him out on sephora.com.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

hi, I 'm a hairdresser of 40 yrs exp. red hair color is the hardest to banish and the easiest to fade. the hot oil should have had nothing to do with ur color. unless it was commercial. professional oil treatments will not "pull" color! if after you have color applied and wish to keep it longer without fading , then purchase a packet of "NEUTRAL HENNA" from a local beauty supply . apply it the same day at home after your color application . (in salon" costs upto $70.) urs will cost $4.75 . Henna is TOTALLY ORGANIC ! activated with "hot water" , follow the SIMPLE directions! Henna washes out over the course of 6 wks. So by the time your ready for a maintenance "touch-up" IT WILL BE GONE , READY FOR UR FRESH COLOR TOUCH-UP. It SHINES ur hair , gives it more body and retards pigment fading so ur red stays redder longer. If there is any CLEAR Henna left in the bowl ? smear whats left on your face like a mask. let them both sit for 30 min. then wash off with hot water in the shower. the mask cleans the pores!like a SPA face mask.

PS. be sure to go to a dollar store and buy a gross of cheap sun glasses and hand them out to ur friends or the police will arrest you for attempting to blind people! (you'll be THAT shiny!) :).

Why is black hair always left out?

Honestly, black hair is always left out of everything. Its always the battle between blondes, brunnettes, and redheads. Is it because people know that black hair is so beautiful that it has no other competition? Really, some of the most beautiful women in the world are black haired, yet people with black hair don't even have one of those nickname thingies like brunnette for brown hair or redhead for red hair. Is it because people are just jealous of it?

Why is black hair always left out?

While I agree with you that many people that have black hair are beautiful, there is no reason you have to say most blondes are stuck up for no reason. I'm a blonde (Natural, but I have been every color of the rainbow when it comes to hair), and I have a few friends that are blondes, and none of us are stuck up in the least bit. I know it's dumb that people are leaving black haired beauties out, but there's no need to insult other haircolors. They are just as beautiful. Leaving that aside, it may be because there are very few people with black hair, since most people just have very dark brown. There aren't many nicknames that do black hair justice, but just recently I thought of calling them midnight brunettes. Just be happy that you are unique enough not to have a million jokes or stereotypes about you, and enjoy being born with natural, dark, beautiful tresses.

Why is black hair always left out?

TRUE! AGREED! i have black hair : )

Why is black hair always left out?

ily for ur question. i have black hair and wonder the same thing! thank you for caring =)

Why is black hair always left out?

Do you want to be called a blackhead? I think that would insult people more than anything.

Why is black hair always left out?

there isn't such a thing as truly black hair. it's actually extremely dark brown.

Why is black hair always left out?

wow. i tottaly agree with u all the way. I have black hair too. (i'm japanese) maybe it's cuz not alot of people in the USA have black hair. We do need a nickname for black haired ppl. All the other hair colors get one why shouldn't we?

Why is black hair always left out?

Because very few people have BLACK hair, most have dark dark brown, unless you dyed it. I think it is still considered brunette

Why is black hair always left out?

I've always noticed that!! I don't have black hair, mines red. Anyway, idk why people leave out black hair. I wish I had black hair. :'(...

Why is black hair always left out?

Actually, I have found that redheads are left out almost as often as those with black hair, and red hair seems to be disliked more for some reason. I'm not exactly sure why black hair is left out, although some will argue that black hair isn't truly black but very dark brown, which may be the case. My feeling on that though is that if you have to hold a strand of a person's hair up to the light to see any brown in it because it's so dark then it should be called black. Most black hair that is dyed that way has a blue tone when held to the light and examined, so is it really a dark blue? It doesn't make sense to me. It's not like it's a big deal anyway. I happen to think naturally black hair can be just as beautiful as any other haircolor though. I have and I love it. ;)

Why is black hair always left out?

I've always thought that black hair fell under the realm of brunette. Brunette simply means "dark-haired" and isn't relegated to just brown hair.

adj. Having dark or brown hair.

n. A girl or woman with dark or brown hair.

Edit: Oh, and a retarded nickname for blondes would be "toe-head." Do you really want to be thought of as having a toe for a head?

Why is black hair always left out?

Haircolor does not define who you are. Yes, there are stereotypes about haircolor, but at the very core of things, you define who you are and what you want to stand for. It's not fair to say that people are a certain way because they have a certain hair color, especially now, when anyone can achieve any haircolor just by picking up a plastic bottle and a pair of latex gloves. As for the nickname, make something up(that sounds nice) and spread its usage. The english language is always evolving and change happens all the time. There are plenty of words in the dictionary now that were not there before. If it matters that much. As far as the why part of your question, my answer is that it has to do with the language and how it has evolved because society plays a large role in it's development. In the US most people did not have black hair, so terms were never coined. Nowadays, that's different. More people have black hair, we have just yet to coin that phrase. I mean, for example, most people living in Hong Kong do not have blonde, or brown, or red hair. Therefore, the terms, or nicknames for these have not been made in the Chinese language, or if they exist they're not in my vocabulary, so correct me. But that's my theory as to "why" there is no term for people with black hair. Then again, it could all be a conspiracy! : )

Why is black hair always left out?

It is probably because most people with black hair are ethnic.

Why is black hair always left out?

No.

I think that people just only care about blonde hair.

Why is black hair always left out?

are u blackhaired? anyway this is a nice concern.

u should probably know that the second haired chinese lady is not beautiful but i'm not saying it's because she has black hair, i have it to.

Anyway blackhaired girls and men are hot, but there also pretty good blondes. brunnetes and red haired looking people out their.

I don't think we are been discriminated because a lot of celebreties have black hair, people have dyed their hair black because it's a good colour, maybe it's just the people u have around u that r like that

Why is black hair always left out?

I always thought that brunnette includes black hair. I guess it doesn't. I wouldn't want to be called a "blackhead" though. That's a skin blemish. Wikipedia calls us an "extremely dark" brunettes.

Why is black hair always left out?

Initially, I thought that when you said black hair that you meant "African American" hair, but I see now that you are tallking about having black hair color versus African American hair texture. Black hair does indeed have a nickname--RAVEN-HAIRED--named so after the famous blackbird with the shiny ebony feathers. I think that black hair is often left out because it is usually linked with the brunettes or women with genuinely ebony locks are very rare indeed.

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

I recently dyed my hair a really pretty, but VERY intense shade of coppery red, and the last time I dyed it this color, the color didn't stay as long as I would've liked. What's everyone recommendations for a good shampoo specifically for color-treated hair? (By good, I mean "able to retain red hair color the longest"...red's the only color I ever have problems retaining)

Also, I have a problem with my hair getting too oily very fast, so sometimes I cut my color-save shampoo with a LITTLE clarifying shampoo. Is this bad for the color? I've always been afraid that it does, but my hair just gets so oily that I can't resist. :(

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

Use Sunsilk's latest product. This is what I use and my hair stays shiny for such a long time, and the colour holds really well too.

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

I love Garnier Fructis for color treater hair=]

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

Sunsilk do an excellant range for coloured hair that cover greasy or dry too.

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

boots have a new range for colour treated hair its something like nutmeg and henna

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

use herbal essances for color treated hair.

herbal essances is very good shampoo, and you absolutely need the color treated part. it has extra chemicals so it wont strip the colors from your hair.

also sunsilk is very good shampoo, and im pretty sure ALL of them are for color treated hair, just find the kind you need for the oily problem (i know they have it) and read the back to make sure. i was surprised when i saw my sunsilk protects color treated hair

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

tresseme and sunsilk..my mother has the same problem it really works good luck nd enjoy

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

Redken Color Extend....It's pricey but worth it. I too have hair that gets oily quickly and I do not have a problem with this shampoo or conditioner.

P.S. A little goes a long way!

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

use garnier fructis.

specially for coloured.

i used it and its effective.

for me its a best choice and try it out.

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

Hi If your using a clarifying shampoo then this could be the cause for your hair dye not lasting as long as you want it to. Anything to fully cleans the hair will stripp the colour out.

I find that using a colour care shampoo and conditoner dry my hair out, and I dont think it makes a difference how long the colour last, it just makes the hair shiny, but the thing is as my hair is dry I need a moisturising deep penetrating condtioning shampoo and conditioner, but if I use one for coloured hair I dont get a good result, Which is what I imagine you get with having greasy hair and needing to use a different shampoo and conditioner to keep the hair under control.

So I wouldnt worry too much about you shampoo being ther reason for you colour not lasting as they dont last long anyways. I had to keep dyeing my hair nearly every 2 weeks and I was using a colour protection, the tresemme one and it didnt make a difference to the colour lasting and my hair was as dry as a bone.

I have gone on to henna dyes now, as you can put these on as many times as you like and not wreck the hair and they are permenant and just fade. Loads of people love the red hennas and if you cover the henna once you have it on your hair gets more redder.and the more you hennait the better red you will get. I got mine from Lush, I got the brown one but the rouge one is one of the best sellers.

Also they do a solid shampoo called reincarnate, its for coloured hair and it brings out red highlight so it sound perfect for you hair and it has no chemicals in it. I tried it the other day and its brilliant. I also have greasy roots and I found it didnt get as greasy.

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

tressemme shampoo %26amp; conditioner is the best on the market

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

I think John Frieda is the best i have tried many different ones over the years. My hair gets greasy quickley,i find this shampoo helps with that too.

My hair????????????????

im leaving my hair red on the bottom and under....but whats the best blonde dye...that works good on red hair???????????.................my hair is soo boring i need to change it.................

My hair????????????????

Red is the hardest colour for bleach to strip - and a few rig pigment molecules will still be in your hair. This causes many people to look 'brassy'. My advice would be to get it done professionally.

My hair????????????????

There is a bleaching kit by loreal that works very well.

My hair????????????????

L'oreal, w/o a doubt. I don't know what specific dye colour you need, but if you want to leave your red on the bottom and under, I highly reccommend just 1 step up from dirty blonde. That'll look WAY more natural than per say, PLATINUM blonde.

My hair????????????????

I tend to agree with agony aunt...red is hard to lighten. It is a very strong colour and the hardest to strip. If you are serious then go to a professional salon and get them to do a strand test..they should do this free of charge..but that will give you an idea of how hard your hair will be to strip the red. Please listen to professional advise...because as agony aunt said you may turn out brassy as brassy thing...it's not worth it to maybe save a little money and time.sorry if this advise is disappointing but trust me you have the strongest colour to lighten on this planet.Hope this helps..good luck

My hair????????????????

girl, please do not try and dye it yourself. especially since you want to go from red to blonde. please see a professional. if you don't you will wind up with pink/orange hair. trust me! or, you will completely fry/break it off.

Why Do I likie Red Heads?

Hey everyone I am 13, male, with blue eyes, blond hair and fair skin.....The only girls I have ever really liked have been red heads, what gives?

They all have red hair, blue eyes and are fair aswell........no one in my family has ever had red hair if that helps?

Why Do I likie Red Heads?

Most people have preferences, it's no big deal. What you find attractive someone else might not, and vice versa...a lot of people like blondes with blue eyes, some like dark hair and eyes, so you liking red hair and blue eyes isn't odd or abnormal. As you mature you may find other physical characteristics attractive as well.

My fave is dark (black or dark brown) hair and light (blue or green) eyes...but that doesn't mean I don't date guys that have other hair or eye colors.

Why Do I likie Red Heads?

there's somthing different about them, rarer, more collectible! lol!, I like them too, and i'm 30, don't worry about it, each to their own, don't make decisions based on it either though.. doesnt actually change the person..

Why Do I likie Red Heads?

Because their carpet matches the drapes

Why Do I likie Red Heads?

Everyone has preferences do not worry that you like a certain type of person. They are what you find visually appealing, just make sure that a certain look isn't the only reason you want to be around them.

Why Do I likie Red Heads?

You are a smart young man! :-)

Red Heads are intriguing! I know.......I am one!

Why Do I likie Red Heads?

they tend to have fiery personalities

'spit fires' alittle aggressive/adventures

Why Do I likie Red Heads?

Everyone is usually attracted to a certain "type"...

Why Do I likie Red Heads?

no answer really

its just how your mind works and something in your mind is attracted to redheads

Why Do I likie Red Heads?

The same reason I like blondes and frosted flakes. Cuz god said so.

Why Do I likie Red Heads?

i like red heads too :)

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

well i bought a bleaching hair blonde kit thing today and i set up all the stuff, but i went to an alpaca farm and it blew up when i was gone haha. so i'm going to buy a new box tomorrow and do that. i don't have the money to get my hair professionally done, and i want some tips for doing it myself (but my mom is helping me too, i'm 15 years old). also, i have red/auburn hair, and i was wondering does this mean that my hair will be harder to turn blonde? because i heard that bleach makes your hair turn orange or something if you have red hair.. haha.

so, please tell me anything that you think it helpful so it doesn't turn out awful. thank you!

p.s. don't say "omgg don't do it yourself!" please. i'm not asking for that. thanks!

:)

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

i am a hairstylist in training !!

use Blondor hair lightener. it works best. if you can't find that go to SALLY's and get QUICK BLUE hair bleach. there are different levels that your hair bleaches at. once you've gotten to the point where your hair looks pale yellow. you're ready to do whatever you want to it. if you were wanting to do all over blonde use foil. but don't do your roots yet. wait the last 10-15 mins.

also, use a toner for your hair that way it won't have that orange-y look. you pick out what color blonde you want. the people at sally's or where ever you're going can help you choose the shade. a toner is important. gives you the color you actually want.

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

It won't turn your hair orange, but after the bleaching wears off it might. it really is better to get a salon to do it though. good luck! :)

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

if you bleach ur hair when it is that color the reddish it will turn orange. I had that happen to me alot so i would try to get most (all) of the red out before you bleach it blonde. its going to be very hard to get out the red.

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

No bleachy the hairy!~!

When people bleach there hair it damages it so it will kill your ends of your hair and nobody looks cute bleach blonde only regular dark blonde is cute follow this tip!~!

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

Oh. Um. Wow. That's gonna hurt. Friends have told me bleaching is painful.

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

I dye my hair ALL the time so my hair is totally fried. But when you bleach your hair it is likely to turn an orangish color if your hair is black, brown, or red, basically anything but blonded. I would suggest bleaching it and then buy some blonde hair dye. So that it will help out the orange color. The orange color isn't so bad. At least i didn't think it was i have picture of my hair when it was that color so send me an email if you want to see what it might look like. Though my hair was black and i bleached some of it. Since your hair is a light red/auburn, it should be mostly blonde maybe with a little bit of orange. It depends on the type of bleach too. Hope i helped

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

I wouldn't do it because In your picture. Your hair looks super cute! There's too many blondes in this world [like me] and I think your color is very unique.

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

I seriously advise you not to do that. You should go to the salon and get it done because you can seriously damage your hair by bleaching it if you don't know what your doing. Especially being that you already have a dark color hair, you really should not do the kit. Not many people know this but after you bleach your hair blond your suppose to go back to the salon every 3 days to a week to get treatment so your hair does not get extremal dry out. so hopefully you will not do this. and if your thinking about dying your hair jet black, same thing, get it done at the salon. Same damages can happen.

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

well.. u can always go to a cosmetology school it's cheaper. but.. red is the hardest to get out of the hair. lucky u lol. but ur hair has to go through a lightening process..that is why ur hair turns all kinds of colors. but our hair wont all be bleach blonde. unless u want to leave it on longer which will damage ur hair. well put it on ur hair shaft to ends like start an inch or 2 from ur scalp n then wait until its pretty light use ur own judgement n then put it on ur regrowth or the hair that doesnt have any blonde on it yet... bc of the heat from ur head will process faster then ur hair shaft.

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

Buy the kit that matches up on the back from where your color is to where you want it be. Auburn hair is a lot easier to turn blonde than black/dark brown hair, as it's closer on the color spectrum. Just follow the directions and be careful to color all the hair and get it well covered with solution!

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

As a hair stylist, I am begging you, please please please do not do this to your hair. Your hair will turn orange!!!! Not to mention it will damage your hair. I understand salons can get expensive, did you think of trying a beauty school? That would save you and your hair a lot of worries. Or if you can go to a salon just get your crown highlighted to give you some blonde. A couple highlights are cheaper then a full head. Good Luck.

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

You should have a toner to get the orange out, its the second thing you put on after the peroxide bleach. if you bought a kit, you probably have it. I doubt the color of your hair woud cause it to turn orange. You do have to be careful if you have well water. Some well water has iron in it and it can turn orange or brassy when you bleach it. if that's the case, wash your hair in bottled water for a week or so before you bleach. If you're on city water it should be fine.

I'm going to bleach my hair blonde tomorrow at home?

Bleaching is the hardest thing to do in the world of hair coloring..I wouldnt attempt this adventure unless your looking for bright orange hair....Believe me, your setting yourself up for heart ache, frustration, andhair that is going to be a mess..You will end up going to get it fixed at the salon, and then again costing you more in the long run to get it corrected...money, money money....Please dont attempt this..

Hair color help!?

I am kind of dark skinned and I colored my hair dark auburn red about a month ago and now i want to get highlights. What color highlights will look good with dark auburn red hair and my skin color?

Hair color help!?

Light auburn or light brown. You could always do a dark golden if you wanted them to stand out more.

Hair color help!?

Any colour that is 2-4 shades lighter, or any shade 2-4 shades darker is ideal for highlights or lowlights!

Hair color help!?

Since you are dark skinned with red hair I would recommend putting many red highlights. Try different shades of red like a wine, or burgundy color, and try some lighter golden red highlights as well. So you would have a highlighted effect red which is similar to debra messing's or marcia cross' color. But if you can't make to a beauty salon and do not have time for foiling. What I recommend is the Revlon colorist salon quality hair color in #55 Medium Auburn which enhances natural brunettes or reds. It was a breakthrough color with a color glaze which enhances natural highlights and keeps red hair vibrant. It will also be a nice contrast to your dark auburn hair. You will look like Debra Messing and Marcia cross if you use revlon colorist. Ginger hair????

hey all, guys, what do you think of girls with ginger hair? would it put you off sleeping with a girl if they had red hair? i have red hair and feel too embarrased to sleep with my boyfriend cos of it.i cant shave as i have diabeties.please help

Ginger hair????

ginger hair is lovely please do not be put off, your b/f should love you regardless of what colour your hair is,just learn to love yourself hun thats all that matters.good luck.

Ginger hair????

i know for sure it wont put him off , if anything it will attract him more, belive me. Report It

Ginger hair????

red hair would be nice. I have heard it is softer!

Ginger hair????

Why cant Diabetics shave??? I've never heard that one before.

Ginger hair????

You need to be proud of it! I am! Don't let something silly like that stop you from enjoying yourself...

Ginger hair????

if you and your boyfriend love each other it shouldn't matter what your hair looks like. maybe before you sleep with him you should tell him why you are concerned. i am sure that he will understand.

and don't sleep with him if you aren't ready too.

be confident. i am sure you are beautiful!

Ginger hair????

he can see you got ginger hair so he knows you got ginger pubes, if he really liked you he wouldnt care

Ginger hair????

If your proud to call yourdelf ginger and not mask it up by calling yourself "strawberry blonde", you deserve the best man regardless of your hair colour as for shaving he should understand that, good luck and be confident!! xx

Ginger hair????

Ginger is probably the sexiest of hair colours. The boyfriend wouldn't be with you if he wasn't attracted to you.

Ginger hair????

hun there is nothing wrong with it!!! my best mate has ginger hair and she has no probs... my hubby thinks she's lovely... if the man is a good man he will fancy u for u and not the colour of your hair.

Ginger hair????

This doesn't answer your question, but if you want to know more about ginger hair - look at paintings by the artist Titian who had a real thing about that colour.

And did you know that you can probably trace your ancestry back to Neanderthal man? Scientists suggest now that the gene for red hair goes back that far - how many family historians can claim that?!

Ginger hair is fabulous - your bf is probably very proud of you.

Ginger hair????

my daughters name is jessica and she has red hair, been seeing her boyfriend for over a year now, she has no problems, her boyfriend loves it, so dont worry,

Ginger hair????

actually, i have really really blonde hair and I really want red. Theres this red head girl at school and all the guys like her

Ginger hair????

Ur boyfriend knows that u have red hair so he obviously doesnt care he likes u for who u r and not cz of the colour of ur hair! Be confident i am sure ur boyfriend wouldnt sink that low! if he did find sum 1 better than him there plenty guys out there!

Ginger hair????

U have hair problem 閳?remady is to view this site

http://haircaresinfo.50webs.com

Ginger hair????

i wouldnt worry about it too much. Im a ginger and i really never got mocked about it too much and anyone that did was a friend so i knew they meant nothing. Red hair is beautiful on girls and if he knows you have ginger hair on top id say he has a good idea below. i was in a similar position when i was with my first girlfriend she was beautiful and i thought she was out of my league but she didnt care at all. I was conscious of it for literally 10 seconds and i realised she did not give a toss. Ive been with plenty of girls since and they have all seen "the beast" lol and ive never felt the slightest bit embarassed and neither should you. Its not like she pulled my pants down and said "what the hell is that?!". If he likes you, he likes you because he finds you attractive as you are. Its not like he's pretdending you have blonde hair or something...And btw i know a lot of good looking guys who have a serious thing for girls with red hair so dont think im saying it just cause i have ginger hair!

Hope it helps but just wondering why cant diabetics shave?

Hair help!!!?

http://www.hairfinder.com/hairquestions/...

Maybe this helps a little?

Think it might be best to go to the hairdressers to have it done O_o Red can be tricky and it goes orange if you dot get the tones right

Dyeing my hair brown...?

I know similar questions have been asked before, but my situation is a bit different...I have red hair that I DYE to make red. My normal hair color is brown. I want to go back to my original color, only a few shades darker. Can I go straight to brown from red using a box color, or is that too risky?

Dyeing my hair brown...?

no, just go ahead and do it.

if it doesn't work out the way you'd hoped,

walgreens sells a permanent haircolor removal.

Dyeing my hair brown...?

ooooo thats pretty tricky

my mom is a hairstylist and i dye my hair all the time (my hair is also brown) and when i have red highlights or something its REALLY hard to get out....but since this is a box color it may be easier

i would go to a salon and ask.....beleive me....a mistake with red and brown can go bad.

Dyeing my hair brown...?

Going darker isn't usually a problem and since you are doing brown on red, they are kinda in the same family I would just do it and not worry about it.

Just make sure to use a brand with no-ammonia since you are dying dyed hair, you don't want to be too hard on it. You could also look at doing a henna rinse in a dark brown. It might not be exactly brown, but depending on the color it would keep a reddish tint and would be easier on your hair.

Hair dying?

Ok, I am thinking about going to a salon to dye my hair. My cousin does it often and i was thinking about doing it too.

I have a chesnut brown color. Im so sick of it. I wanted to get it done a little darker but with the tint that makes it look like red. i dont know how to explain it. i dont want RED hair just that dark look when it goes over brown.

I dont know what to ask the hairstylist to do becasue im afraid ill hate it. and i dont know how to phrase it or if you call those colors certain things? like amber expresso ive heard so many but i need someone to help me with the correct name color im looking for with the description i gave

please help me, i hope thats not confusing ? thanks :)

Hair dying?

The name depends on what hair dye brand they use.. you should ask ur 4 help.

Hair dying?

When you go into a salon they will show you a bunch of samples of colored hair and you can pick one.

Hair dying?

It sounds like you want a burgundy. But the easiest thing to do is ask the stylist to bring out the color board. It has samples of all the different hair colors on it, and you can visually pick out what you want without even needing to describe it. :-) Good luck!

Hair dying?

maybe called auburn, but ask to look at their hair color samples

My hair is changing from brown to light blonde red. I work inside, this has never happened??

the question is, "what is the reason?"

Lack of protein?

Too much exposure to the sunlight?

Bleach by chlorine or any hair product?

Find out the reason and you can improve on your hair

It sometimes happens when a gene that determines hair colour becomes 'unblocked' (this is not a very scientific explanation, sorry :) )

I had my hair professionally done at a salon this past saturday... it didn't come put like I ex

I have naturally brown/red hair and wanted to go strawberry blonde. My hair was bleached then had red toner put on it. It has a ton of "yellow" parts now. IM NOT HAPPY!

I called the salon and she said she would add another red toner to tone down some of the blonde. Is that going to kill my hair? Should I wait a little longer before having more color added?

Everyone , including my picky husband says it looks great , but Im not convinced. Maybe just so drastic that Im not used to it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I had my hair professionally done at a salon this past saturday... it didn't come put like I expected....?

When I first got my hair professionally colored in a slightly darker tone, they used toner to reduce the brassiness of my blonde. It really bothered me for a few days, but I grew to love it and realized it was just the difference that bothered me. In any event, I'd definitely give it a week before any recoloring, not only to think it over but also to give your hair some time to relax. Doing too much chemical work to your hair at once can be extremely damaging and can cause it to fall out.

I had my hair professionally done at a salon this past saturday... it didn't come put like I expected....?

I think you should wait or your hair will get thinner =x

I had my hair professionally done at a salon this past saturday... it didn't come put like I expected....?

Well I'd get it fixed right away. I've had an experience like this before as well and it was terrible. It was for my bf's grad and I got my hair done for it (one color on top layer and one on bottom) and she mixed the red and black kind of when putting it on n there were splots on the black! Needless to say I was not happy and even when I got my hair done she was like "Oops I accidentally got black on a few parts of the red but nobody will notice it's on the bottom color right?" I was soooo angry! And this was suppose to be a nice salon as well and the funny part is when I left the salon and had paid for it all she had the nerve to give me her card. Pushy or what?!?

I know it's frustrating!! Goodluck!

I had my hair professionally done at a salon this past saturday... it didn't come put like I expected....?

Yes, I definatly think you should wait longer no affence but or else you'll look weird! Kind of like... U know wat i means!

I had my hair professionally done at a salon this past saturday... it didn't come put like I expected....?

If everyone is telling you it looks great, maybe you're just not used to it yet.

But...having said that...if you really hate it then by all means go back and make them fix it. They were supposed to do it the way you asked for it to be done.

BTW you don't include a pic but from your description it sounds pretty awesome to me (just my opinion).

Good luck!

I had my hair professionally done at a salon this past saturday... it didn't come put like I expected....?

Yes, it will probably kill your hair. You know, it's just not fair! You can go in, tell them what you would like, and they never really get it. I have heard so many people tell me about their hair nightmare stories. Anyway, you should definitely wait a bit longer (at least two weeks) before getting your hair dyed again or else it will overwhelm your hair with chemicals. Good luck!

I had my hair professionally done at a salon this past saturday... it didn't come put like I expected....?

I had the same problem...naturally dark hair when stripped, pulls brassy yellow and orange tones. The only way my hair got rid of yellow was to double process (do it again). Your hair needs to be lightened more....to a platinum, then colored over. Or, you could try a shampoo or product designed to remove brassy tones....like matrix so silver shampoo...but it might take your red out faster.....definitely wait at least a week or so, and condition with a reconstructive conditioner like Joico's K-pac (those can both be found in professional salons and are highly recommended) But, in the end, you really need to trust your stylist...explain in great detail and hopefully she'll fix it to your liking...if not, you may need to find a new stylist ( I did...my old stylist kept re-doing my hair, bleaching, pulling through a cap, and putting me under the dryer while processing. All very bad ideas for over-processed hair...I finally had to go to someone else) Hope this helps! :)

I had my hair professionally done at a salon this past saturday... it didn't come put like I expected....?

my rule is give it a week. Some clients just need time to get used to the new look. Sometimes they do and sometimes they still hate it. So, if after a week, you still dont like the looks of it, go back and get it fixed. A stylist should not do anything to your hair if your hair is in too bad of shape to take it.

Curling hair + blunt bangs?

I've just gotten blunt bangs, and I want to curl my hair so it looks like these pictures.

http://www.latest-hairstyles.com/images/...

http://www.latest-hairstyles.com/images/...

http://www.latest-hairstyles.com/images/...

I've tried curling them with a 1 1/2 inch curling iron, it doesn't look right (maybe it's too big?). Any products/techniques you could suggest? My hair thick, course, and naturally straight.

Curling hair + blunt bangs?

You need like a 3/4" iron.

I would suggest useing rollers. If you wet your hair a little and roll your hair in the sponge rollers it should come out the way you want it. Also when your hair drys scrunch it up with some moose.

http://www.sallybeauty.com/Brush+Rollers...

http://www.sallybeauty.com/Chrome+Spring...

Curling hair + blunt bangs?

hmm well i think you should use some mouse and scrunch it first then use the curling iron you have or you could go get a smaller one and take really thin peices and curl them

not alot of hair at one time only a very small amount

Curling hair + blunt bangs?

your curling iron is most definitely too large! i think for straighter hair, hot rollers work well. i just got a similar bangs last weekend, too! its a really cute style!

Curling hair + blunt bangs?

When blow drying your hair %26amp; bangs, use a round brush to loosely curl the bangs, going in an up motion with the brush. Try the 3/4" barrel %26amp; curl just the tips of your bangs %26amp; just for a second , then when the hair %26amp; bangs are cool, use a soft vent brush %26amp; brush through the hair. Style with a pick or your fingers (which is called piecing) You can also not curl the bangs with an iron, %26amp; they will be straight %26amp; wispy. Use your fingers to get the style you want.

My baby boy's hair color...?

Okay..

My baby's father has brown hair but he has a son (with an ex) who has red hair.. the mother of his other son has brown hair too..

I am a redhead..

ANYWAYS.. Do you think my son will get my red hair or his father's brown hair?

My baby boy's hair color...?

Well, if he has another kid with red hair, he obviously carries the genes which make it possible.

Since you are a redhead, you carry two recessive genes, both for red hair. Since he has brown hair but has this child, he carries one recessive gene for red hair.

So to figure it out, it would go something like this:

B is brown and r is red, okay? His hair genes are represented by the row going across, and yours are represented by the ones going down. He is Br and you are rr.

--------B-----------r

r-------Br----------rr

r-------Br----------rr

So it's a 50/50 chance! There's a 25% chance of any of these combinations occurring. If he inherits the B gene from his father, it will be expressed, because it is dominant. If he doesn't the recessive r genes will be able to show.

It doesn't look right in this window, but draw a square and divide it into four. Write B above the top left part, r above the top right. Then r and another r going down the left side. Mix them as shown in the middle. Br represents brown hair and rr represents red hair. But no matter what, he will carry the gene for red hair.

My baby boy's hair color...?

I think red hair.

My baby boy's hair color...?

brown hair

My baby boy's hair color...?

Could be any way and it could be blonde, you have all the colors to create a blend

My baby boy's hair color...?

My vote is for the brown hair. But both are very likely, it seems.

My baby boy's hair color...?

What color hair do the husband's parents have and the grandparents?

It is highly possible the child may have red hair but it would be more interesting to know other family members coloring.

My baby boy's hair color...?

Usually genetics comes down to family history not just the parents. Example me and my wife both have dark hair, although I had blonde hair when I was younger I don't now. Our daughter has blonde hair and we still get people that tell us that they don't think our daughter is really ours even though she looks like me. I went through family photos and found out that my mother had lighter colored hair when she was younger even though her hair is dark brown now.

My baby boy's hair color...?

maybe your son hair have a colore between your hair color and your husband

My baby boy's hair color...?

Depends on what the grandparent's of this baby's hair color is as well. My parents have brown hair, green eyes- I ended up with the same... my two younger brothers both had blonde hair blue eyes, but the blonde hair turned a light light brown after a few yrs.

My baby boy's hair color...?

Brown hair is a dominant trait, red is recessive. If one of babydaddy's parents had red hair, there's a chance he could have red hair. If both of his parents are brunette, the chances become slimmer. If either of you has a parent w/ blond/e hair, there's a chance your son could be blond.

EG, my husband has sandy brown hair and I have brunette hair. His parents both had sandy hair, my father is a brunette and my mother is a redhead (though I believe most of that now is from a bottle ;)). My son has his dad's sandy brown hair and my daughter is a strawberry blonde.

The fun thing about genetics is...it's a total crap shoot! Heh, I thought both my kids would be born w/ heads full of dark hair like I was...in fact, I told him I would demand a maternity test if either of them were bald or blond/e. Turns out my son was pretty bald and my daughter had red hair!

I guess babies are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get!

My baby boy's hair color...?

If there is anyone mom's or dad's family that is blonde down the gene pool it could be blonde.

My prediction is brown hair.

My mom, grandfather and husband mom had Red, Red hair and non of my kids or my sisters kids came out with red hair.

Personally, I have always hoped one would have red hair, it is so beautiful.

My baby boy's hair color...?

All depends on the gene he gets. The red could have been passed down from his family or hers. Also a babies hair doesn't reach it color until like 6 months old. If could be born blond and end up with brown around 6 months of age. Same with the eyes.

More than likely I will say he will get brown.

My baby boy's hair color...?

maybe its your ex boyfriends kid

After enhaning your red hair with built in highlights use the John Frieda Radiant Red shampoo and conditioner and John Frieda Radiant Red Color Glaze part of the John Frieda collection. You will have gorgeous hair with these tips. Touch up the roots monthly, glaze weekly to keep your red sexy and vibrant.

Well they even convinced me into picking a different red, then they died my hair ORANGE!!!!! But only on top! Because they couldn't get the black dye out of the bottom. Well I thought maybe it doesn't look so bad, and they were sooooo impressed with their work so it was hard to complain, so I just left. Well after sleeping on it, I decided I really really hated it, and what I want to know is should they give me a refund? I payed $124 and it took up 4 hours of my day. I think I should at least get the amount for the color job back!!!! Don't you? Will they give it back to me you think?

The salon messed up my hair?

i doubt they will give you your money back, since you died your hair afterwards. But it doesn't hurt to try. Explain to them that you didn't want to hurt there feelings and left it as is. But a new hair cut is always healthy for your hair especially after being dyed so much. Good luck

The salon messed up my hair?

they should give you back at least half. you paid for it and left the store happily so you can't say you were complaining about it.

The salon messed up my hair?

Don't cut your hair. Do a hot oil treatment. You can use olive oil at home. Glop it in and spritz a little water, wear a heat/plastic cap. Shampoo and dry. This so you can rebuild your hair shafts. Then try the color again another time.

The salon messed up my hair?

I don't think they'll let you get a refund.. because part of the salon's policy is that things might not turn out the way you want it to be, depending on each individual's hair and hair type... But I think next time, you should do it at home. It's cheaper! Plus, you can test it on yourself first and see if it's the right colour for you.. then if it is use it. If not, get another one.

The salon messed up my hair?

You should go back and tell them that they told you that it would work and it didn't, they need to atleast pay you back for some of it since lots of your hair is still black.

The salon messed up my hair?

my sis is a hair dresser and if some one does that then you have the wright to complain and not leave the salon till they sort your hair out hope i helped

The salon messed up my hair?

You are the customer and the customer is always right. Any reputable salon would offer to give you your money back or fix the problem so that you will leave happy. You are a walking billboard for their business.

Hair cut!?

my hair is past my arm pits long.

i have red hair and its naturally curly-

although i straighten my hair everyday.

i want to get it cut before school starts this summer.

but am nervous to get it cut shorter;

i play sports.so i need to be able to put it up.

i really like Nicole Ritchie and Rhiannas new hair.

but would it be for me;

and could i play sports in them??

if not give me suggestions please!!

Hair cut!?

You could basically do anything with your hair. You are really lucky that you have curly hair too! Don't straighten it all the time; it damages your hair and you should show off the curls!!

For a hair cut, I suggest getting maybe two inches off and layers. This will make it easier to straighten and it gives your hair movement. Layer around the head and (if you want volume) ask for layers around the crown (but make sure to ask for NO mullet!!). With a layered haircut, you can pull your hair in a pony and you are all set!

Hope this helped! I wish I had curly hair!!

Hair cut!?

i think you should do the rihana hair cut.because if she can dance in that hair you can play sports.but i don"''t think it"''ll work with your red hair try jet black.

Hair cut!?

Well u don't want somethin that will make u look really diffrent and will never work 4 u so go with what u think is best 4 u and if u get it cut short like them then u can still put it up!! so do whats best 4 u!!

Hair cut!?

I had a hair cut problem. Talk to your hairdresser, look in magazines, do whatever it takes. The most important thing... TO WAIT A LITTLE AND MAKE YOUR final DECISION!

Hair cut!?

the weather outside is delightful, let it grow, let it grow, let it grow.

Hair cut!?

it all depens on ur face structure...but I AGREE with you i like there hair cuts to ...

Red lipstick?

i have read that there is a shade of red lipstick to suit everyone?

apparently you need to find out if you suit a warm shade or a cool shade, how do you find this out? it doesnt state on the actual lipstick if its cool or warm, how do you know which one suits you? i have red hair and blue eyes and my skin is typical

"english rose" colour.

any suggestions please?

Red lipstick?

i think you should use a really bright red and if it doesn't look good on you, my suggestion is to buy many cheap lipsticks of different shades and try them on!!!

=) don't worrie youl find your colour!!!

bye bye and lot a love

Red lipstick?

"English Rose" you need a deep dark Red, a warm tone.

Red lipstick?

I think it is best to go to a make up counter like MAC and get them to show you which shades suit you best. For certain shades you have to have really white teeth, any discolouration can make them look yellow. Apparently the best ones are the ones which have blue pigments in them.

Red lipstick?

I'm Typical English rose also...I use like a Coral Red...don't go to bright or to Dark...go more pink-ey Reds :) x

Red lipstick?

go goth....

black lipstick!!!!

English rose %26gt; goth look %26gt; foreign man %26gt; sweet couple

Red lipstick?

if you want really bright red try this-

http://img2.timeinc.net/instyle/images/2...

if you want to tone it down try this-

http://www.beauty-advices.com/wp-content...

red lipstick will really bring out your hair.

Red lipstick?

If you look good in autumn colors, you're warm. If you look good in navy/royal/midnight blues, you're cool.

Another option: hold a true white piece of paper next to your makeup-less face, do you compare as yellow/gold undertones (warm) or pink or blue undertones (cool)?

One other thing: don't buy the lipstick until you've worn it outside of the mall--those flourescent lights throw colors way off. Also, don't try on lots of lipsticks in a short period of time--all the pressure on your lips will cause more blood to flow to the area and will affect how the color looks on you. Good luck.

Red lipstick?

try pink lipgloss

you cant go wrong ;)

Red lipstick?

Pull your lip down, look at the color of pink it is, the best color for you is two shades darker than that. Try to find one like that.

Red lipstick?

"Cool" and "warm" refers to the tone of the shade. Cooler colors are nudes, pinks, champagnes, etc. Anything light and natural. Warmer tones are colors like deep reds, corals, rich browns, etc. Anybody can wear red, they just need to find their shade. Since you have a rosy complexion and red hair, you can probably wear the classic red. Just find one that you like. You may also enjoy a rose or champagne color.

Red lipstick?

use more of a tame color. Don't go for the lipstick, go for more of the lipglosses. i have covergirl lip juices or somthing like that, they came in all diff. colors, so either get watermelon, rassberry, or strawberry, they give a lot of color and are glossy, they also taste really good which not many do and i cant wear them b/c of that, ew, haha, but you can get these at rite-aid. they are really good and i love them!

Red lipstick?

when buying a lipstick, make sure it has a orange base (ask person behind makeup counter)

Orange bases are good because they dont make your teeth look yellow like some lipsticks.

Depending on your skin tone, if you were paleish skinned, id recomend Rimmell`s Pursky Pink, its a very dark pink, light red shade, but then again a vampy dark red would suit pale skin too

Red lipstick?

Lipstick is only for old women, it looks bad if you're below the age of 45 and try to wear it.

I prefer that on guys, but dark hair/light eyes on girls (which is what I wish I had).

And I prefer pale skin over medium skin.

Which of these hair/eye/skin combinations do u like better?

I like brown or black hair/brown eyes/medium skin best (preference developed from growing up in SE Asia), but if I had to choose out of those it would be either the 1st one b/c it's fairly unusual or the red-haired one b/c the features "blend" the best to me.

black hair/blue eyes/dark skin

but me personally i'm going for black hair/green eyes/dark skin myself.

Hair dye pictures? Need a picture to show my stylist!?

Ok, so I have red hair right now. I want to add black and (some) blonde to it but I can't figure out how I want it to be done. I'm debating between highlighting or minking it to perfection, or doing the red on top black on bottom route. If anyone has pictures of either dramatic highlihgting or top-bottom dye jobs I'd appreciate it.

Also, it doesn't have to be in red. Any color works, I just need a guide!

Hair dye pictures? Need a picture to show my stylist!?

Black on the bottom, Red on top, and some chunky blonde just through the top layer. The blonde would need to bo platinum - red and platinum is FABULOUS, it'll most likely take a couple times but it's so worth it.

OR

Bottom black, Red top, chunk of blonde over the bangs (hopefully you have side swept bangs haha), and another chunk of blonde on the back of the head. Now to explain....if you're looking at the top of your head the blonde on the bangs would form a triangle the point being the middle of your head. Another triangle of blonde is formed by the blonde in the back of your head, the poing of which being in the middle of your head meeting up with the point of the front triangle.

Sorry if my digi worked I would send you a pic, It's hard to expain, I've done it before and it's really funky.

Black hair dye is a NIGHTMARE !!!?

i have naturally black hair that i`ve dyed light brown. the last time i dyed my hair .. i had it dyed black once .. then a few months later .. dyed it black again .. (big mistake) anyways, i know black hair dye is a nightmare to get out, but it`s starting to fade. i`m wondering if i use red hair dye, will it work ? (even a little bit would make me happy) or would it just stay black ? .. i really don`t have the time to go to a salon %26amp; i look evil with black hair !!

Black hair dye is a NIGHTMARE !!!?

black hair color is the hardest to get rid of.

if you really want to change your color you NEED to go to a salon and have ALL color completely stripped from your hair, meaning your hair wont have any pigment left in it. after you do that you are free to color it any color you want and shouldnt have too many problems. i wopuldnt suggest a red though because it is the second hardest color to get out :)

having your hair color stripped is hard on your hair so if you do it be sure to keep your hair really hydrated afterward.

Black hair dye is a NIGHTMARE !!!?

It probably won't...black hair dye is pretty strong, and once you dye it black, there's really no turning back. You have to bo 100% positive that you want it like that. I would suggest making time to go to the salon, or if you wanted to use the red dye, bleach your hair first and then dye it, but that takes a lot of time and can really damage your hair.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

Black hair dye is a NIGHTMARE !!!?

I have had this problem before. Don't use red because the black wont take the dye and your roots will, thus causing you to have a red "crown." It would look silly.

Loreal has this stuff called preference (I think it is this brand) Anyways, they have hair dye made for people who already dye their hair and wish to go lighter. Look on the box. Get the stuff that is specifically for people with dark hair.

Black hair dye is a NIGHTMARE !!!?

the only way to really get rid of black hair color is to "bleach it out." this really should be done at a salon.

The red may just give you a severely red tint of black hair. It may also end up worse then the black it self.

sorry I can't be of more help.

Dying my hair at home?

Once more, since I don't think I've gotten the answers I wanted -

I'm naturally a reddish/golden light brunette, a level 6/7. I want to be either about a level 8 blonde, or completely different - red - not ginger, more cherry, like one of Feria's power reds.

I have blue eyes, fair skin. I don't know if I'm a 'warm' or a 'cool,' though photoshopping bright red hair onto myself looks good. I was blonde as a child, and thanks to my heritage I think I'd make a good blonde.

Anyways. If I go blonde at home, since I do want to change my colour and can't afford a salon, how would I go about doing this? To get a level 8 blonde, do I use a level 10 dye, since I'm about a level 6/7 anyways? I'm hesitant to bleach beforehand because not only am I afraid of damage, I'm afraid of bleaching my roots as well to get the desired colour every few weeks, the colour overlapping and damaging/looking bad.

So can I go blonde in one step, and with what?

Should I just go red instead?

Thanks!

Dying my hair at home?

Home kits for Blonde coloring is hard- orange is a usual result and never looks good :[

But as a girl who dyes her hair alot, I would advise buying, either, two level 8s, one for re-touching, or one level ten, and maybe a blonde highlighting kit?

And roots, well, thats just something you'll have to deal with as it comes. Theres no way to prevent it :/

Oh, ditto with damaging. It sucks. And without a salon coloring, its hard to prevent.

You might wanna try stripping your hair first, and then taking the blonde plunge.

:]]

Dying my hair at home?

I would go red until you can afford to go blonde at salon blonde bleach can kill your hair... you dont want to look like a troll

Dying my hair at home?

i think you should go a deep, deep red. that'll look awesome with your skin and eyes.

the reason i didn't recommend blonde is because red pigments are incredibly hard to get rid of.. even if you dye it blonde now, the red will show up eventually.

Dying my hair at home?

I would honestly wait until you have the funds and allow a professional to do the job. Or at least before you do it could at least consult a salon for the tips.

Sorry I was not all that helpful, just going from your color to a blonde you might end up green or a lot of damage and paying a salon the money for the corrective coloring.

Dying my hair at home?

No matter what product you use, going lighter is bleaching ( taking out the color). When you go lighter with the hair you are taking out the color so it is hard on your hair no matter what. You need to prep your hair for it and be able to afford to use good products to take care of it after. I really can't tell you what level to use because all products work so differently on the hair. If you want to go 2 shades lighter make sure the color you choose has a 20 volume developer which will allow you to lift the hair 2-3 levels of lift. If you want no damage to the hair the best thing is to stay on your same level and just change the tone like to cherry red as you stated. When you change only the tone of the color or go darker you are actually adding pigment instead of pulling it out so it is not hard on the hair.

Dying my hair at home?

I went to Walmart and bought a hair color called "born to be blonde", I think. Anyway, it worked great! I had to leave it on for 45 minutes, which was the maximum time. I'll probably get another box to make even blonder. It's for brunette's who want to go blonde. It says it on the box that it's safe for brown hair.

I also love Feria's dark auburn!
