Red dye: hard to get rid of or long-lasting?

I've heard that red from previous dye-jobs is the hardest tone to get out of hair but also that red hair dye is one of the quickest to fade. Which is it?

Red dye: hard to get rid of or long-lasting?

I have heard and seen this problem too. My friend died her natural light blond hair with red streaks. It said on the package that after about 20 washes the color would come out. Even after far many more than 20 washes her hair is still tinted red. In a way, both things you have heard are correct. Although the color fades fast, the color also remains tinted in the hair for a long time. Hope this helps! =)

Red dye: hard to get rid of or long-lasting?

why red????? thanks for the points !!!!

Red dye: hard to get rid of or long-lasting?

My wife had a hard time getting rid of it.

Red dye: hard to get rid of or long-lasting?

it fades quickly.and each time u shower some red comes off until after about a wk it stops/.

Red dye: hard to get rid of or long-lasting?

both...

the red dye molecule is very large (compared to blonde and brown), therefore, its difficult to make it stay in the hair for a long period of time, especially if the hair is damaged, dry, or porous. red is the quickest color to fade, but it does exactly that...fade. your hair is still red, its just a much lighter red. however, when you lighten hair with color remover or bleach, regardless of what color it is to start with, its going to go through a red stage. if the color you're trying to remove is already red, it often times just turns lighter shades of red, eventually turning pink or orange. red and black are a hairdressers nightmare as far as removing or lightening, both for the same reason...they don't like to come out.

Girls with curly hair?

This isn't really a question, sorry. I was just wondering how all of ya'll feel. Don't you get annoyed when people tell you to straighten your hair?! I mean, it's soooo annoying! Not everyone wants to be like everyone else with straight hair!

Oh, and if one more person tells me that I have orange hair, I'm gonna scream!! I have red hair, btw. Just wanted to know if anyone else gets annoyed like me? And, please, anyone who doesn't agree with this, don't take this as an insult!!

I mean, I usually straighten my hair since my natural hair is an ugly wavy look....But if I had curly hair....I would love it and never straighten it.

Girls with curly hair?

its weird cuz even though I have curly hair, I prefer straight hair on girls.

Girls with curly hair?

I too have curly hair but have never had anyone tell me to straighten it. In fact, most people tell me they wish THEY had curly hair! People who tell you that may be jealous of your curls. Be proud of your hair and wear your curls with joy!

Girls with curly hair?

i like curly hair u now cause it is very nice

Girls with curly hair?

curly, straight, the only consideration is if you like it...and I have not seen your hair color to judge if it is , red, but, bein' here in the Rockies, Denver Bronco colors are blue and ORANGE, and sheesh, that IS orange...and you have to tell me little missy, if you dyed it that color, because Orange just ain't natural, so, if, IF it is, then you had to have dyed it. welcome, and I have naturally curly hair , and live with it...a touch of grey now...natural

Americas next top model hair?

Nicole gets a make over with red hair. I want to get my hair that color. What should I tell my hair dresser. When they dye it red it looks kinda red on the top and then dark in the rest of it. I want it bright but classy., like not punk rock, but still stands out.

Americas next top model hair?

I loved her haircut. Just print out the picture of Nicole from the internet and take it to your hairdresser. Search for ''Nicole America's Next Top Model''.

Or tell her to give you a pixie cut with red color. Pick out your color individually.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

So like a week ago, I dyed my hair red and today I got a hot oil. While I was rinsing my hair in the bathtub, I noticed that the water sort of had a light reddish tint and I freaked out. Was it taking out some of my hair dye? Was it making my hair fade? Please, help me out. I love my red hair and I don't want it to fade. Thanks.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

Yes, It will do that but it should not be enough to ruin the color.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

No. More likely its your shampoo. You need a colour retaining one. Ohhh and red is the worst colour for leeching when washing.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

No, soap washes away color. That's why

color-treating/damaged hair shampoos are moisterizing.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

Probably, since oil penetrates through your hair.

Also, red dye fades a lot quicker and easier, so it was probably just the hot water opening up your hair cuticles.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

yes, and red is the coolest awesome color (just love it), but the quickest to fade!

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

I use it all the time and my hair is auburn and it never fades.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

yeah, it strips the color.

usually on the dye boxes it'll warn you about hot oil treatments.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

Yeah, the oil might make hair fade. I would find one that is specifically deigned for color-treated hair. There are lots of deep conditioners that don't strip color. Frederic Fekkai makes some good ones, check him out on sephora.com.

Can a hot oil fade away hair color?

hi, I 'm a hairdresser of 40 yrs exp. red hair color is the hardest to banish and the easiest to fade. the hot oil should have had nothing to do with ur color. unless it was commercial. professional oil treatments will not "pull" color! if after you have color applied and wish to keep it longer without fading , then purchase a packet of "NEUTRAL HENNA" from a local beauty supply . apply it the same day at home after your color application . (in salon" costs upto $70.) urs will cost $4.75 . Henna is TOTALLY ORGANIC ! activated with "hot water" , follow the SIMPLE directions! Henna washes out over the course of 6 wks. So by the time your ready for a maintenance "touch-up" IT WILL BE GONE , READY FOR UR FRESH COLOR TOUCH-UP. It SHINES ur hair , gives it more body and retards pigment fading so ur red stays redder longer. If there is any CLEAR Henna left in the bowl ? smear whats left on your face like a mask. let them both sit for 30 min. then wash off with hot water in the shower. the mask cleans the pores!like a SPA face mask.

PS. be sure to go to a dollar store and buy a gross of cheap sun glasses and hand them out to ur friends or the police will arrest you for attempting to blind people! (you'll be THAT shiny!) :).

Why is black hair always left out?

Honestly, black hair is always left out of everything. Its always the battle between blondes, brunnettes, and redheads. Is it because people know that black hair is so beautiful that it has no other competition? Really, some of the most beautiful women in the world are black haired, yet people with black hair don't even have one of those nickname thingies like brunnette for brown hair or redhead for red hair. Is it because people are just jealous of it?

Why is black hair always left out?

While I agree with you that many people that have black hair are beautiful, there is no reason you have to say most blondes are stuck up for no reason. I'm a blonde (Natural, but I have been every color of the rainbow when it comes to hair), and I have a few friends that are blondes, and none of us are stuck up in the least bit. I know it's dumb that people are leaving black haired beauties out, but there's no need to insult other haircolors. They are just as beautiful. Leaving that aside, it may be because there are very few people with black hair, since most people just have very dark brown. There aren't many nicknames that do black hair justice, but just recently I thought of calling them midnight brunettes. Just be happy that you are unique enough not to have a million jokes or stereotypes about you, and enjoy being born with natural, dark, beautiful tresses.

Why is black hair always left out?

TRUE! AGREED! i have black hair : )

Why is black hair always left out?

ily for ur question. i have black hair and wonder the same thing! thank you for caring =)

Why is black hair always left out?

Do you want to be called a blackhead? I think that would insult people more than anything.

Why is black hair always left out?

there isn't such a thing as truly black hair. it's actually extremely dark brown.

Why is black hair always left out?

wow. i tottaly agree with u all the way. I have black hair too. (i'm japanese) maybe it's cuz not alot of people in the USA have black hair. We do need a nickname for black haired ppl. All the other hair colors get one why shouldn't we?

Why is black hair always left out?

Because very few people have BLACK hair, most have dark dark brown, unless you dyed it. I think it is still considered brunette

Why is black hair always left out?

I've always noticed that!! I don't have black hair, mines red. Anyway, idk why people leave out black hair. I wish I had black hair. :'(...

Why is black hair always left out?

Actually, I have found that redheads are left out almost as often as those with black hair, and red hair seems to be disliked more for some reason. I'm not exactly sure why black hair is left out, although some will argue that black hair isn't truly black but very dark brown, which may be the case. My feeling on that though is that if you have to hold a strand of a person's hair up to the light to see any brown in it because it's so dark then it should be called black. Most black hair that is dyed that way has a blue tone when held to the light and examined, so is it really a dark blue? It doesn't make sense to me. It's not like it's a big deal anyway. I happen to think naturally black hair can be just as beautiful as any other haircolor though. I have and I love it. ;)

Why is black hair always left out?

I've always thought that black hair fell under the realm of brunette. Brunette simply means "dark-haired" and isn't relegated to just brown hair.

adj. Having dark or brown hair.

n. A girl or woman with dark or brown hair.

Edit: Oh, and a retarded nickname for blondes would be "toe-head." Do you really want to be thought of as having a toe for a head?

Why is black hair always left out?

Haircolor does not define who you are. Yes, there are stereotypes about haircolor, but at the very core of things, you define who you are and what you want to stand for. It's not fair to say that people are a certain way because they have a certain hair color, especially now, when anyone can achieve any haircolor just by picking up a plastic bottle and a pair of latex gloves. As for the nickname, make something up(that sounds nice) and spread its usage. The english language is always evolving and change happens all the time. There are plenty of words in the dictionary now that were not there before. If it matters that much. As far as the why part of your question, my answer is that it has to do with the language and how it has evolved because society plays a large role in it's development. In the US most people did not have black hair, so terms were never coined. Nowadays, that's different. More people have black hair, we have just yet to coin that phrase. I mean, for example, most people living in Hong Kong do not have blonde, or brown, or red hair. Therefore, the terms, or nicknames for these have not been made in the Chinese language, or if they exist they're not in my vocabulary, so correct me. But that's my theory as to "why" there is no term for people with black hair. Then again, it could all be a conspiracy! : )

Why is black hair always left out?

It is probably because most people with black hair are ethnic.

Why is black hair always left out?

No.

I think that people just only care about blonde hair.

Why is black hair always left out?

are u blackhaired? anyway this is a nice concern.

u should probably know that the second haired chinese lady is not beautiful but i'm not saying it's because she has black hair, i have it to.

Anyway blackhaired girls and men are hot, but there also pretty good blondes. brunnetes and red haired looking people out their.

I don't think we are been discriminated because a lot of celebreties have black hair, people have dyed their hair black because it's a good colour, maybe it's just the people u have around u that r like that

Why is black hair always left out?

I always thought that brunnette includes black hair. I guess it doesn't. I wouldn't want to be called a "blackhead" though. That's a skin blemish. Wikipedia calls us an "extremely dark" brunettes.

Why is black hair always left out?

Initially, I thought that when you said black hair that you meant "African American" hair, but I see now that you are tallking about having black hair color versus African American hair texture. Black hair does indeed have a nickname--RAVEN-HAIRED--named so after the famous blackbird with the shiny ebony feathers. I think that black hair is often left out because it is usually linked with the brunettes or women with genuinely ebony locks are very rare indeed.

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

I recently dyed my hair a really pretty, but VERY intense shade of coppery red, and the last time I dyed it this color, the color didn't stay as long as I would've liked. What's everyone recommendations for a good shampoo specifically for color-treated hair? (By good, I mean "able to retain red hair color the longest"...red's the only color I ever have problems retaining)

Also, I have a problem with my hair getting too oily very fast, so sometimes I cut my color-save shampoo with a LITTLE clarifying shampoo. Is this bad for the color? I've always been afraid that it does, but my hair just gets so oily that I can't resist. :(

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

Use Sunsilk's latest product. This is what I use and my hair stays shiny for such a long time, and the colour holds really well too.

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

herbal essances is very good shampoo, and you absolutely need the color treated part. it has extra chemicals so it wont strip the colors from your hair.

also sunsilk is very good shampoo, and im pretty sure ALL of them are for color treated hair, just find the kind you need for the oily problem (i know they have it) and read the back to make sure. i was surprised when i saw my sunsilk protects color treated hair

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

tresseme and sunsilk..my mother has the same problem it really works good luck nd enjoy

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

Redken Color Extend....It's pricey but worth it. I too have hair that gets oily quickly and I do not have a problem with this shampoo or conditioner.

P.S. A little goes a long way!

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

use garnier fructis.

specially for coloured.

i used it and its effective.

for me its a best choice and try it out.

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

Hi If your using a clarifying shampoo then this could be the cause for your hair dye not lasting as long as you want it to. Anything to fully cleans the hair will stripp the colour out.

I find that using a colour care shampoo and conditoner dry my hair out, and I dont think it makes a difference how long the colour last, it just makes the hair shiny, but the thing is as my hair is dry I need a moisturising deep penetrating condtioning shampoo and conditioner, but if I use one for coloured hair I dont get a good result, Which is what I imagine you get with having greasy hair and needing to use a different shampoo and conditioner to keep the hair under control.

So I wouldnt worry too much about you shampoo being ther reason for you colour not lasting as they dont last long anyways. I had to keep dyeing my hair nearly every 2 weeks and I was using a colour protection, the tresemme one and it didnt make a difference to the colour lasting and my hair was as dry as a bone.

I have gone on to henna dyes now, as you can put these on as many times as you like and not wreck the hair and they are permenant and just fade. Loads of people love the red hennas and if you cover the henna once you have it on your hair gets more redder.and the more you hennait the better red you will get. I got mine from Lush, I got the brown one but the rouge one is one of the best sellers.

Also they do a solid shampoo called reincarnate, its for coloured hair and it brings out red highlight so it sound perfect for you hair and it has no chemicals in it. I tried it the other day and its brilliant. I also have greasy roots and I found it didnt get as greasy.

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

tressemme shampoo %26amp; conditioner is the best on the market

What is the best kind of shampoo for dyed hair?

I think John Frieda is the best i have tried many different ones over the years. My hair gets greasy quickley,i find this shampoo helps with that too.
